Privacy Policy
You can use ICP without an account, name, email address, school identifier or date of birth. This policy explains what stays on your device, what ICP’s hosting provider receives, and how advising inquiries are handled, and your choices.
About this policy
This policy explains how Innovative College Prep, LLC (“ICP”), a Florida limited liability company, handles information when you use innovativecollegeprep.com and its free tools, and when you contact ICP about private advising. Please read it with the Terms of Use.
What stays on your device
Saved colleges, preferences, roadmap progress, notes, grades and budget assumptions are kept in this browser’s local storage (the keys icp.workspace and icp.workspace.last-good). A third key, icp.backup-meta, records only when you last made or checked a copy, a fingerprint of that file and reminder timing, never your content. The planning tools do not send this content to ICP, a hosted student database, an analytics provider or an AI service. It is not included in server-rendered pages or shareable classroom links.
Tools that do not save
The aid offer decoder and SAT/ACT test plans, and the GPA and budget tools when you choose “Don’t save”, keep what you enter in the open tab only. Nothing from them is written to browser storage; closing or reloading the tab discards it. Print or download a file first if you want to keep it.
What the website requests
Your browser requests public pages, images, scripts and college data from the site. ICP is hosted by Vercel, Inc. As with any website, the hosting infrastructure automatically processes ordinary request information to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the date and time, and the address requested. Requested addresses can show which public college pages you open or compare (institution IDs are public identifiers), and the words you type into public search boxes; they never contain your notes, grades, essays or financial inputs. ICP uses this information only to deliver, operate, troubleshoot and protect the site. ICP has no analytics or advertising integration, does not combine request information with other information, and does not use it to identify, contact, profile or advertise to anyone. Vercel handles it under its own terms, and ICP does not claim that infrastructure keeps no logs.
Local does not mean encrypted or permanent
Edits to saved records save automatically within about a second; a new record is kept only after you choose to save it, and until then it lives in the open tab. The workspace is not encrypted. Other people using the same browser profile may see it. Private browsing, storage limits, clearing site data, school or shared-computer policies and device loss can remove your plan. Signing in to a school Google or Microsoft account does not sync it. With Safari’s standard tracking prevention, a site’s saved data can be deleted after 7 days of Safari use without visiting and interacting with the site. There is no automatic cross-device sync or remote recovery service.
School and shared computers
On a shared computer, use “Don’t save” where offered, or save a copy you control and then remove your plan from the browser. A downloaded file may also be erased when you sign out, so send it to your phone or a personal account first, and avoid keeping your only copy in a school account you may lose after graduating.
Backups are private files
A workspace JSON backup contains your saved content, including essays, notes, academic inputs and financial estimates. Export it deliberately, keep it somewhere you trust, and share it only when you intend to share its contents. Import validates a file locally and asks before replacing your workspace; files are not uploaded.
School and classroom links
Public school activity links contain only an approved grade, activity, duration and tool collection. They contain no student workspace data. Counselors cannot see students’ local progress through these links. A student may choose to share a printable worksheet or export separately. ICP has no contracts with schools for student data and receives no student records from schools.
Official external resources
Source links open institution, federal or other official resource sites under their own privacy practices. Avoid entering identity documents, financial-aid credentials, Social Security numbers or other identifiers into ICP notes or tools.
Control your information
Use My ICP Backup & restore to save a copy, check that a copy opens, review the previous copy, restore a supported backup or explicitly clear local data. Clearing ICP does not remove downloaded files or copies you shared. If a browser blocks storage, ICP says your plan is not being saved; save a copy before leaving.
Advising inquiries are separate
Everything above describes the ICP website and its planning tools. They work without an account, don’t ask for your name or email address, and keep your plan in your browser. Like any website, ICP’s hosting provider receives the ordinary request information described in “What the website requests”.
Private advising is a separate, optional service. If you email about it, your message, your email address and anything you include go to ICP’s advising mailbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). None of it is connected to the plan saved in your browser, and ICP’s tools never send your plan, grades, budgets or college lists anywhere.
The advising page can show a scheduler from Calendly, a separate service. It loads only when you choose to see available times. Your browser then connects to Calendly and the services it uses, which can include analytics and advertising tools; they receive ordinary request information such as your IP address and may use their own cookies. If you book, the details you enter go to Calendly and may also appear in the calendar and email notifications it sends to ICP, which are hosted by Google. The consultation is held on Google Meet. These services operate under their own privacy terms. Nothing from your ICP plan is sent to any of them. The scheduler appears only on the advising page.
Recording a consultation is optional. With the agreement of everyone who attends, ICP may record a consultation using Calendly’s Notetaker, which produces a recording, a transcript and an AI-generated summary. ICP asks at the start of the meeting and records only if every person present agrees, including the student; a parent’s or guardian’s agreement is not treated as agreement for anyone else. ICP does not record a consultation that a child under 13 attends. If anyone declines, the consultation goes ahead without recording, and if anyone asks to stop, ICP stops recording. Calendly processes recordings, transcripts and summaries for ICP under its own terms and keeps them in ICP’s Calendly account until ICP deletes them; ICP has not set a fixed period for deleting them. ICP uses them only to prepare for and provide advising and to keep records of it, not for marketing, and does not share them with schools, colleges or anyone else. You can ask ICP for a copy of a transcript or to delete a recording.
Advising emails and booking details are used only to respond to you, to arrange advising and to provide any advising you agree to, not for marketing. Questions about information you’ve sent, including requests to delete it, can go to innovativecollegeprep@gmail.com.
Sharing
ICP does not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or give it to colleges, schools or other businesses for their marketing. Information reaches only the service providers named on this page, which handle it to provide their services, and is otherwise disclosed only when the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety or the security of the site.
Children
ICP is a general-audience educational website for students, families and educators. It is mainly about high-school college planning, and some guides help families plan from grade 7. Its tools work without an account, and ICP does not ask anyone using them, including children under 13, for a name, email address or other contact information. The hosting provider processes the ordinary request information described in “What the website requests”, including IP addresses, for every visitor; ICP uses it only to deliver, operate and protect the site, never to identify, contact or profile anyone. Advising questions and consultation bookings are for parents, guardians and students 18 or older, so younger students should not email ICP or book a consultation themselves. If a child under 13 sends ICP a message or booking anyway and ICP learns the child’s age, ICP will not use it for any other purpose. It may reply once, for example to ask that a parent or guardian get in touch, but will not contact the child again, and will promptly delete the message or booking details and the child’s contact information from its email and scheduling accounts. Parents and guardians with questions can contact ICP at innovativecollegeprep@gmail.com.
How long information is kept
Your plan stays in your browser until you or your browser remove it; ICP has no copy. Request information is kept by the hosting provider under its own practices, and ICP’s code adds no analytics or logging of its own. Advising emails stay in ICP’s Gmail account, and booking details and any consultation recordings, transcripts and summaries in its Calendly account and the related Google calendar entries and email notifications, until ICP deletes them. ICP has not set a fixed retention period or an automatic deletion schedule for them. Google and Calendly also keep information under their own practices. You can ask ICP to delete what you sent; see “Your requests and choices”.
Security
ICP is served only over HTTPS, its own pages run no third-party scripts (the optional scheduler on the advising page opens in a separate Calendly frame), and planning data is not stored on ICP’s servers. Your plan is protected only as well as your device and browser profile are. No website, browser or email service is perfectly secure, and ICP cannot guarantee the security of information sent to it or stored on your device.
Your requests and choices
Your plan is in your browser, so you control it directly through Backup & restore. ICP cannot see, retrieve, correct or delete a plan saved in your browser, or files you have downloaded or shared. If you have sent ICP information directly, such as an advising email, a consultation booking or a consultation recording, you can contact ICP at innovativecollegeprep@gmail.com to ask what it holds about you, or to ask it to correct or delete that information. ICP will respond and handle the request as applicable law requires. It may need to confirm that a request comes from the person concerned or, for a minor, from a parent or guardian, and may keep information the law requires it to keep. Deleting messages, bookings or recordings from ICP’s own accounts does not remove copies that Google or Calendly keep under their own practices, and ICP cannot single out or delete one visitor’s request information in its hosting provider’s records.
Visitors outside the United States
ICP is operated in the United States for U.S. students and families. If you use it from elsewhere, request information is processed in the United States and wherever its service providers operate.
Other websites and Do Not Track
ICP’s own code sets no cookies, contains no advertising or analytics trackers and does not follow you across other websites, so there is no ICP tracking for a browser’s Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. Websites and services you open from ICP, such as college sites or a scheduling service, follow their own practices, which may include cookies and tracking.
Updates to this page
ICP may update this policy when its practices change, and will post the update here with a new date. ICP will not use information it already holds in a materially different way without first obtaining any permission the law requires. Last updated October 25, 2026.
