Grade-level planning workshop

Choose one achievable next step and identify who can help.

Facilitator notes

Use approximately one quarter of the session for introduction, one half for exploration and one quarter for reflection. Offer individual or paired work and accessible alternatives to writing. Do not collect private financial, academic, essay or identity information. Different timelines and postsecondary pathways are welcome.

  1. Warm-up · What are you curious about after high school? Include college, training and other pathways.
  2. Explore · Review the grade-appropriate planning prompts below. Choose two that fit your circumstances.
  3. Reflect · Write one next action, a flexible target date and a person or resource that could help.
  4. Discuss · A partner asks what support would make the action easier. Sharing personal details is optional.

About ICP and private advising

Using ICP: students need no account and are not asked for names or email addresses, and their plans stay in their own browser. As with any website, the hosting provider receives ordinary request information (see Privacy). Separately, Innovative College Prep offers optional paid college advising to families, and the site’s main navigation and homepage link to it. Families who choose to ask about it email ICP or book a consultation through a separate scheduling service, under a separate privacy note, and that contact is never connected to a student’s ICP plan. Advising is not promoted in ICP’s planning tools, printouts or exports, and schools are not asked to promote it.
